Everyone talks about it, but few take the time to define it. Faith is more than simply believing in certain teachings, such as the existence of God; it is a strong conviction that the world is part of a larger plan, God’s plan. Faith means that, while the world may appear chaotic and uncontrollable, we know deep down that this chaotic world is not where we truly belong. Rather, the strength and power of God guide our lives.
One of the most important aspects of our relationship with God is faith. There will be difficult times for all of us, regardless of who we are or where we are in life.
These trying times put our faith and trust in God to the test. Our faith is put to the test daily — by horrific news stories that remind us of death and cruelty, by personal difficulties. And by the human failings of our family and friends. The more we live in faith, the better we can navigate the world, to trust in God and his ultimate plan for people.
Faith strengthens us, braver and better people. Faith gets us through difficult times and allows us to help others who are going through similar difficulties. Faith is the belief that God exists, and that by following him.
We can look forward to a world beyond this one — God’s kingdom, where we will live in eternal peace with him.
