Your true identity?

Today I want to remind you that you didn’t come into this world by mistake. God wasn’t bored when he was creating you. He sent you into this world for a purpose. And you are given a choice, and that choice is in your hands, and you choose whether to hand it to God or blow it. I don’t know how many chances he has given you in life to discover your true identity, but today he has given you another chance to do so.

God created us to reflect his image, to rule over creation, and to multiply.

He gave each and everyone a purpose, and if you are still struggling to find your purpose, the reason could be that you have allowed your own heart and understanding to deceive you. The truth is, don’t follow your heart but follow the conviction of the Holy Spirit. Our hearts can deceive and lead us outside the will of God.

The Bible tells us that we must trust the Lord with all our hearts and lean not on our understanding (See Proverbs 3:5-6). Following our passion isn’t aligned with God’s purpose for our lives, but following the guidance of the Holy Spirit is. We often link our career accomplishments with our identity, which can lead to us falling short of our true God-given purpose in life. You are still yourself without your qualifications, house, and accomplishments, but you aren’t yourself without the true identity given by God. It’s foolish to focus more on temporary pleasures because, on our deathbed, we can’t take anything with us. It’s okay to achieve those things, but let us pray hard to discover our identity.

If you want to know your identity, get to know your creator first. Have a relationship with him and he’ll reveal it to you. What I am saying is, open the door of your heart and allow him to be the one who lives inside you.

We should live to bring glory to God. We can do that through prayer and study of His Word, the Bible, so that we might better know what He has for us. For us to live with a God-driven purpose, you must first put down this life to gain life (See Proverbs 19:21).

Prayer

Dear heavenly father, I appreciate you for providing me with this opportunity to uncover my actual identity. I acknowledge that through all my life I've been living a life thinking that is aligned with what you called me for. Forgive me for all my sins, which I have committed every day of my life, in thought, word, and action.

I am truly sorry for whatever wrongdoings I may have committed against you, and I apologize profusely. To alter my way of life and cease from sin, with the aid of your grace, so that I may walk in the path of righteousness. And give thanks to the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, amen!

God reveals in order to redeem

The enemy you know is less persuasive than the enemy you don’t know. In most cases, God displays himself to us in dreams or in visions. So whenever God discloses it to you. He is warning you to take a step and to act upon what he revealed. One thing you should perceive is that your enemy is not your neighbor, sister, colleagues, etc. We only have one enemy, which is the devil. Satan is very manipulative and if you aren’t prayerful enough, you’ll end up falling in to his traps. The day you’ll understand, you’ll avoid despising them.

How to depend on Jesus

The things of this world cannot fill the empty space within us; only Christ can complete us. This embodies for us that we need Jesus more than anything else on this planet. God did not put us here to rely on ourselves, but to rely on him for everything. We can't survive without him, which is why the Bible cautions us not to rely on our own understanding, because our understanding can fail us and our hearts can lead us astray. Physically, we may appear to be capable of doing things on our own, but on the inside, we are slowly dying. I don’t know about you, but if you haven't yet accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, it’s not too late. The Bible encourages us in Jeremiah 33:3 that if we call on God, he will answer us and tell us things we don't know. God is waiting for your call today. He is waiting for you to come to him and ask him to show you the way. Here is a short prayer to seek God: Heavenly Father, please forgive me for all of my transgressions against

How do we allow our past to not define us

Even if you don't have everything together, rest certain that God sees you as his priceless possession. Your past does not define who you are today. In actuality, from a spiritual viewpoint, who you are today is not determined by your past. It might affect your thoughts, but it doesn't make you who you are. God proclaims our true identity: that we are made in His likeness and in His image, reflecting both the male and female facets of God (according to Genesis 1:26-27).
